Question: What is Spyware Doctor NET?

Answer:

Spyware Doctor NET (Network) is new tool included in Spyware Doctor that allows you to send PC Tools a copy of any suspicious files that are found on your PC.

Spyware Doctor NET checks your PC against a list of suspicious files. If your PC contains any of the suspicious files listed, Spyware Doctor NET will ask you if you would like to send us a copy of the file.

All details received are anonymous and will not be used for purposes other than malware identification.

The process of sending files through Spyware Doctor NET enables our Malware Research Center the ability to check the received files for Spyware/Adware behavioral patterns and adds the ability for our Malware Research Center to write signatures to include in our Smart Update faster than ever before.

By default Spyware Doctor NET is set to ENABLED. If you wish to disable Spyware Doctor NET or change preferences for Spyware Doctor NET, please complete the following steps:

1. Open Spyware Doctor
2. Click on 'Tools' and select 'Spyware Doctor Network'
3. Select ENABLED or DISABLED or change your preferences using the drop-down box 'On suspicious files detected'

We encourage you to use Spyware Doctor NET and to leave it running in the background.

However, if you are experiencing any problems with Spyware Doctor NET and you would like to completely remove Spyware Doctor NET, please complete the following steps:

1. Open Spyware Doctor. Go to Tools and select 'Spyware Doctor Network'. Please then click on 'Remove Selected Tool...' and click Yes to confirm.
2. Exit from Spyware Doctor (To exit from Spyware Doctor please right click on the Spyware Doctor icon in the notification area next to the clock on the Windows taskbar and select Exit from the menu that appears)
3. Close any open browsers
4. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\tools and delete the following files:
   • sdn.dll
   • pwindow.dll

   Spyware Doctor NET should now be completely removed from your PC.

5. Restart Spyware Doctor
