General

To access the General Settings screen, click on Settings in the left navigation menu and click General.

Quarantine infections before removal : When you select this, checked items on the Scan Results screen are placed into the Quarantine List upon clicking the Fix and Continue button. Default: Selected.

Play sound on scan end when infections are found

Selecting this option causes Spyware Doctor to play a sound if infections are found at the end of a scan. Default: Selected.

Show disclaimer when repairing

When this check box is selected, a disclaimer is shown each time you remove or quarantine malware infections. Default: Cleared.

Include 'Information Only' low-level infections in scan results

Select to include 'Information Only' low-level infections (also known as Potentially Unwanted Applications) in scan results. Default: Selected.

Language

Select the interface language for the program. Default: English

Enable compatibility mode: Enabling Kernel Compatibility will disable some kernel level functionality and allow SD to operate with any conflicting applications. Only enable this option if you experience conflicts with other applications. Default: System dependant.

Run Scan on Windows startup: This will start a scan upon windows startup. You may choose between an Intelli-Scan, Full Scan, or Custom Scan. Default : Full Scan

OnGuard Tools can display alert window: Clear to disable OnGuard pop-ups. Default: Selected

Smart Update Settings

Do not check for updates: Spyware Doctor will not automatically search for updates.
Notify me about available updates : Spyware Doctor will check if updates are available and prompt you to download them.
Download and install updates (notify me): Spyware Doctor will check for and download any available updates and notify you once the update is completed.
Download and install updates (silently): Spyware Doctor will check for and download any available updates with no notification to you..
Proxy Settings : If you are using a proxy server to connect to the internet, the server address and port can be entered here. Proxy authentication is also supported.
