Browser Guard provides real-time protection against malicious changes to Internet Explorer settings caused by Browser Hijackers. Browser Guard checks for these hijackers, which can be acquired by browsing the Internet, and removes them from your web browser.

Summary tab:

• Auto-detection is now - click ON / OFF to toggle between switching the Browser Guard tool off or on, respectively.

• Hijackers removed during last scan - indicates the number of Hijackers that were removed in the last scan. If no Hijackers were removed, this field indicates 0.

• Display notification - click the underlined text to display Every time / Once per Threat, which sets Browser Guard pop-up notifications to display with every detection, or once per removed threat, respectively.

• Click Check for Hijackers Now to conduct a manual check for Browser Hijackers on your system.

• Click Check Browser Object List to display the Browser Object List tab.

• Click Change BHO Settings to display the BHO Settings tab.

Browser Objects List tab:

• Browser Objects - displays a list of currently installed Browser Objects. Browser objects are programs that integrate with your web browser to provide it with additional functionality. Malicious Browser Objects already installed on your system are marked in red, and are removed from the list when detected by Browser Guard or during a scan.

• Browser Extensions - displays a list of currently installed Browser Extensions. These are Windows Registry entries associated with malicious Browser Objects or Browser Hijackers. Malicious Browser Extensions already registered on your system are marked in red, and are removed from the list when detected by Browser Guard or during a scan.

• Click Update to refresh the Browser Objects and Browser Extensions lists.

• Click Additional Information to display more information about a selected item in the Browser Object or Browser Extension lists. This function only becomes active when an item is selected.

• Click Unregister to unregister a selected item in the Browser Object or Browser Extension lists. This function only becomes active when an item is selected.

BHO Settings tab:

Select the appropriate options to specify the type of protection that Browser Guard provides.
