This settings category allows you to customize settings that affect Spyware Doctor's behavior when Windows starts up.

The following describes Spyware Doctor's Startup Settings:

• Run at Windows Startup - If this check box is selected, Spyware Doctor runs 'silently' at Windows startup in the system tray. You can then select which action you want Spyware Doctor to take after it runs:

• Monitor in background (recommended) - No further action is taken at Windows startup. Note: this option is selected by default and background monitoring commences if OnGuard has been activated.

• Perform Quick Scan - Spyware Doctor performs a Quick Scan after Windows starts up.

• Perform Full Scan - Spyware Doctor performs a Full System Scan after Windows starts up.

• Perform Custom Scan - Spyware Doctor performs a Custom Scan after Windows starts up. Click Custom Scan Settings... to specify which scanners you want to use in the Custom Scan. The scan tools in this list are the same as those in the Custom Scan list, which can be accessed from the Start Scan screen.

• Exit after the scan is over (if no infections were found) - Select this check box if you do not want Spyware Doctor to remain running in the background upon completion of the startup scan. If checked, Spyware Doctor closes when the scan has completed, unless malware is detected. Once Spyware Doctor has closed, OnGuard protection is no longer available.

When you have made your selections, click the Apply... button to save them. The Apply... button becomes inactive, indicating that your selections have been saved. Note that Apply... remains inactive until you alter settings on this page.
