This settings category allows you to customize a variety of settings that affect Spyware Doctor's logging behavior. Spyware Doctor scan logs from the current and previous Spyware Doctor sessions are also available from this screen.

The following describes Spyware Doctor's Log Settings:

• Log activity/events/infections - If this check box is selected, the scan process, scan tools utilized and items detected in the scan are logged.

• Clear logs on exit - If this check box is selected, all logs are cleared each time you exit Spyware Doctor. To retain logs, ensure that this this check box is cleared, and the current log will be saved as a separate log file when you exit Spyware Doctor. When Spyware Doctor is restarted, this log file can be accessed below the current log. The log files saved from previous sessions are accessible below the current log in reverse chronological order. Note: this option is cleared by default.

• Clear log directory when it exceeds - If this check box is selected, Spyware Doctor deletes all logs when the size of the log directory exceeds the number of Megabytes (Mb) specified. This option can be used to control the disk space used for Spyware Doctor log files. If required, you can change the default disk space allocated for logs (in Mb).

• Log infections from Ignore List if they are detected - If this check box is selected, items in the Threat Ignore List are included in logs if detected on your system during a scan, despite not appearing on the Scan Results screen.

Log detail window: If the Clear logs on exit option (described above) is unchecked, the current log is saved as a separate log file when you exit Spyware Doctor. The log files saved from previous sessions are accessible below the current log in reverse chronological order. These additional logs can be deleted or cleared with the Delete Log or Clear Logs buttons. Note: the current log is locked in memory and therefore, cannot be deleted or cleared.

• To view the contents of a log file, double-click it or select it and click the View Log button.

When you have made your selections, click the Apply... button to save them. The Apply... button becomes inactive, indicating that your selections have been saved. Note that Apply... remains inactive until you alter settings on this page.
