Exploit Guard provides real-time protection against exploits, which are malicious applications and other files that make use of security flaws or vulnerabilities to perform malicious activities. Exploit Guard blocks the running of malicious code hidden within a Windows Metafile (WMF) graphics file when it is displayed.

Summary tab:

• Exploit Guard is now - click to display ON / OFF, which toggles between switching the Exploit Guard tool on or off.

• Exploits blocked - this field displays the number of exploits that were blocked during the current Spyware Doctor session. This number is reset to 0 when Spyware Doctor is closed. Clicking this number displays the Results tab.

• Display notification - click to display Every time / Once per process, which sets Exploit Guard pop-up notifications to display with every detection, or once per blocked process, respectively.

• Guard against the following exploits - this box displays a list of currently supported exploits that are blocked by Exploit Guard.

Results tab:

• Results - displays a cumulative list of exploits that Exploit Guard had detected. For each detection, information is also displayed about the name of the process involved in the exploit and the time when the exploit was blocked.

• Clear Results List - clears the entire contents of the Results list.
