There is no single definition for classifying software as malware. As a consequence, we have determined our own definitions and risk levels for malware, which are based upon our own research, and our assessment of generally accepted views.
From time to time, the risk level we assign to a given infection may not necessarily reflect the approach taken by vendors of other malware removal software. It is also possible that on some occasions, useful software may be categorized as malware, on the basis that it possesses characteristics which we define as malware (refer to Infection risk levels). For these reasons, when you conduct a scan with Spyware Doctor, it is recommended that you review all detected items on your system, before you decide to remove or quarantine them.
