During a scan, Registry Mechanic will search your Windows registry for invalid entries. If it finds any problems, it will list them in the scan results screen at the end of a scan. From this screen, you can safely repair the invalid entries to improve your system's performance stability. Registry Mechanic will automatically create registry backups each time you repair problems, so it is easy to restore backups if you need to do so at a later point in time.

There are two available scan options in Registry Mechanic.

• Full Scan : A Full Scan is a deep and comprehensive scan of the Windows registry. During a Full Scan, Registry Mechanic will search your Windows registry for invalid entries in all scannable sections of the Windows registry.

• Custom Scan : A Custom Scan allows you to select the sections of the registry that Registry Mechanic will include in the scan. See Registry Sections.
