Online version - downloading, installing & registering

This information applies to versions of Registry Mechanic downloaded from the internet.

To download Registry Mechanic:

Visit http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/download/ to open the Registry Mechanic download web page, and click on the download link.
When the file download screen pops up, click the Save button to begin saving the installation file onto your computer. You can also click the Run button which downloads and runs the installation file without saving it.

Double-click on the Registry Mechanic installation file ("rminstall.exe"). This will initialize the setup wizard which will guide you through these screens:

License Agreement - The Registry Mechanic End User License Agreement (EULA) is displayed. You will need to accept this agreement before proceeding.
Select Destination Location - Specify the location where Registry Mechanic will be installed on your PC.
Select Additional Tasks - Additional settings include options to set Registry Mechanic to start up when Windows starts up, and to add shortcuts to your desktop and Quick Launch bar on the Windows Taskbar.
Install other applications - At this point, the installer may ask you to install other applications such as the Google Toolbar. If you wish to install the application, click the Install radio button. Otherwise, click the Don't install radio button and click the Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard.

Purchasing

To purchase Registry Mechanic:

Visit http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/purchase/ to open the 'Registry Mechanic purchase web page'.
Select the number of computers on which you wish to install registered copies of Registry Mechanic. When you have finalized your order, click the Purchase Now button.
In the PC Tools Shopping Cart / secure order web pages, fill in the required details and submit your purchase.
After purchasing Registry Mechanic, you will be sent an e-mail confirming your purchase which includes a license name and license code that will allow you to register Registry Mechanic.

Registering

To register Registry Mechanic:

After purchasing Registry Mechanic, click Register Now on the Main Status screen to open the registration screen.
Enter the license name and license code details as shown on your purchase confirmation page or e-mail message.
Click the Register button on the Registration screen. If your registration details are valid and have been entered correctly, a message confirming successful registration is displayed. You are now a registered user of Registry Mechanic and have access to all of Registry Mechanic's features and latest updates.
