Spyware Doctor “Pure Gold”

San Francisco, 7 February 2008: Leading security software vendor PC Tools has been awarded PC Magazine’s prestigious Editor’s Choice award for the latest release of its anti-spyware product, Spyware Doctor 5.5 with AntiVirus.

According to the independent guide, the updated version’s “under-the-hood enhancements” really do deliver. Reviewer Neil Rubenking said testing showed that version 5.5 “cleans up a system more thoroughly than any other product I've tested,” having “smoothed out the imperfections” of the previous version while dubbing the end result as “pure gold.”

Additional features in version 5.5 include improved rootkit removal, real-time kernel level protection, kernel compatibility mode (prevents conflicts with other security products) and reduced memory usage.

PC Magazine flagged the anti-spyware product’s ability to block the installation of almost all malware, to clean detected malware more thoroughly than any other product, to keep malware from regaining a foothold on the system and to update in the background with no user interaction as reasons for the Editor’s Choice rating.
