Adware.SVAPlayer

  • Threat Level: Medium
  • Description: SVAPlayer is a system tray icon and Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object that shows advertising messages. SVAPlayer and its manufacturers QuickFlicks Inc. seem to have been defunct since some time in 2001. The software still connects to its controlling servers at streamingcash.com, though attempts to open windows from its content servers at quickflicks.com and rn11.com fail. SVAPlayer can download and execute arbitrary code from its controlling server, as a silent update feature. Remove this in case someone resurrects the servers.
