Here are some useful Tips and Tricks to help you get started:

Scheduling a Scan

  • Open your PC Tools Product.
  • Click on ‘Options’, located towards the bottom left under the ‘Start Scan’ button.
  • Select ‘Settings’ and customize the overall behavior such as scan settings and erase settings.
  • Now click on ‘Scheduler’ and enable the scheduled scans.  To change times and frequencies of scans, click on the ‘more information’ link.

Improve your System’s Performance Stability

The "Clean Your Registry" feature scans your Windows registry for invalid entries. If it finds any problems, it will list them in the scan results screen at the end of the scan.

Here’s what to do:

  • Open your PC Tools Product.
  • Click on “Clean your Registry” which will start scanning.
  • Once the scan is finished, you can safely repair the invalid registry entries by clicking “Repair”.

The PC Tools product will automatically create registry backup points each time you repair problems so it is easy to restore if required.

Erase your Online and Computer Activities for Greater Protection

We recommend you use this feature to clean and permanently erase all traces of your online (internet) and computer activities.

Here’s how:

  • Open your PC Tools product.
  • Click on "Clean Your Disks"
  • For each of the icons across the top, you can enable cleaning of that setting by checking the box located on the right.
  • Under each icon, check individual items to have them clean or leave them unchecked to retain their history information.
  • Click “Save” to keep these settings.
  • Click “Clean” if you want to clean immediately or “Close” to leave it until your next automatic scan.
