In previous versions of Windows it has always been possible to setup individual user logins and regulate access to certain parts of the operating system. This process only really controlled display and Internet settings though. In order to stop other areas of the system being tampered with it would have been necessary to try and master the policy editor, something an inexperienced PC user probably wouldn't have wanted to tackle. Today, with the shared PC becoming more commonplace in households everywhere it's possible to keep one individuals work completely separate from another thanks to Windows XP. There's a great deal more to privacy and security in Windows XP than individual logins. In the first of a three part series we'll explore in detail what Windows XP can offer to ensure your files, folders and personal information stay secure from other people that use your PC and during the time you spend on the Internet.
