Warning over Blackberry flaw
Blackberry users are being warned of a potential flaw in the device's internet security that could allow hackers to access Microsoft Windows computers.
An advisory from the US Computer Emergency Response Team has warned that Blackberry users duped into opening a particular HTML page could be exposed to malware that would leave them open to a hacking attack when the device was linked to a computer using the Windows operating system.
The group warned that hackers could insert their own malware onto a computer, which would then allow them to take over the machine.
Microsoft has launched "kill bits" for the flawed software created by Blackberry manufacturer Research in Motion and users can upload the update, which will replace the flawed ActiveX control.
Meanwhile, internet users are being warned ahead of Valentine's Day that a major phishing attack is being planned by hackers to take advantage of lonely hearts on February 14th.
