Virus prevention 'best cure' for PC registry
Removing a virus from a registry is so difficult that a user's best strategy is to protect their machine from attack in the first place, an expert has commented.
Industry expert Samta Jain made her comments in an article for India's Fresh News, urging people to ensure their computers have both anti-virus software and a firewall installed to protect them from online threats.
Where a virus does slip past and infect a computer's registry, she suggested: "Your only hope is to load a professional anti-virus programme and then run every registry scanning program they have until the problem is found."
Users who are anxious to protect and maintain their machines may want to invest in a registry cleaner.
It is vitally important a user keeps their PC clean of registry issues if they want to prevent problems and speed up performance.
A problematic registry can cause a machine to slow, freeze or crash.
Such issues can be caused by a variety of problems, including failing to fully delete software or the presence of spyware.
