UK 'responsible for US security attacks'
A South Korean security researcher has blamed the UK for attacks on a number of US government websites.
According to IT Pro, experts thought the attacks had originated from North Korea.
However, Nguyen Minh Duc, the security director of Bach Khoa Internetwork Security, wrote on his blog that his company has gathered new data on the July 4th denial of service attacks.
The company helped analyse the security breaches with the Korean Computer Emergency Response Team and found that the master server responsible for the malware attacks was based in the UK.
"We found a master server located in UK which controls all of the eight C&C servers to make a series of cyber-attacks last week," Mr Duc said.
"So the source of the attacks has been identified to be in UK," he added.
A recent study by the Institute for Public Policy Research has shown that governments need to take security threats, such as the attacks perpetrated on the US earlier this month, more seriously.
