Teen hacker incarcerated for notorious exploits
Just days after it was revealed that a 17-year-old teenage computer hacker was behind the internet security woes affecting micro-blogging site Twitter, another hacker's notoriety has come to the fore.
A jail sentence has been handed to another 17-year-old hacker from Worcester, Massachusetts, after he was found guilty of running a botnet containing thousands of computers whose online security had been hampered.
Going by the handle 'Dshocker' the teenager was also found guilty of using stolen credit card numbers to purchase goods online, as well as causing damage to corporate computer systems.
Court officials in Boston stated that Dshoker has been controlling a number of botnets since 2005 and has also carried out distributed denial of service or DDoS attacks on internet users.
The teen hacker also made hoax 911 calls claiming there were bombs, which prompted responses from SWAT teams on several occasions.
He also engineered his number to appear like that of one of his victims located far from him in a bid to fool police after hacking into the victim's internet service provider and stealing the data.
