Small business owners 'at particular risk on internet'
Individuals running small businesses are at unusual risk of suffering the effects of malware and email problems, according to one Indian news provider.
ExpressComputerOnline.com states that, while security is a major concern for all, it is particularly those running such enterprises that are likely to experience problems, partly due to a lack of understanding of the online threats on the internet.
It asserts that the likes of one-man operations and other small businesses are hit more severely by viruses, spam and other malicious activity every day.
"Security is vital for small businesses these days because of rampant security breaches and virus threats," the news provider states.
Opinions expressed by company owners surveyed revealed that the security of sensitive information is as important to many as protection from viruses and other online threats.
While many businesses may be working to counteract the efforts of malicious code writers, a recent report from Finding Dulcinea stated that one group of hackers in Russia is marketing a virus building tool to aid novices.
