Red Hat issues updates after hacker breach
Following a network attack from hackers that ended up compromising its networks open source vendor Red Hat has issued updates to prevent further online threats.
The company has issued updates with "critical security impact" for its openssh packages, which are designed for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, Linux 5, and Linux 4.5.
"We are issuing this alert primarily for those who may obtain Red Hat binary packages via channels other than those of official Red Hat subscribers," said a security advisory accompanying the release.
According to Red Hat, last week's breach did not cause a lot of damage and the company remain "highly confident" that the company's systems prevented any compromises to the content.
"We have high confidence that the intruder was not able to capture the passphrase used to secure the Fedora package signing key," the alert said.
The company specialises in provision of free and open source software and is famed for its Linux programme.
