Pinch trojan continues to cause havoc
A trojan is reported to be causing internet security issues for thousands of consumers despite the fact that the people behind its creation were arrested and incarcerated more than a year ago.
The Pinch Trojan is said to be causing a lot of havoc by enabling cyber crooks to create customised Trojans with the ability to steal sensitive data, according to reports by techradar.com.
An online security expert has admitted to the website that variants of the malware are causing some problems for a number of internet security suites.
"This just goes to show that even the most seemingly obsolete piece of malware needs just a few tweaks by someone with a bit of programming knowledge to completely disguise it," Jacques Erasmus of anti-malware firm Prevx told TechRadar.
According to Mr Erasmus, the malware is successful due to the fact that it targets signatures.
Two Russians going by the names Ermishkin and Farkhutdinov were jailed in 2007 for creating the malicious software.
