Oracle issues 43 critical patches
Oracle has released a critical patch update, which is a collection of online security fixes aimed at patching multiple security vulnerabilities.
Numbering 43, the patches are meant to fix internet security vulnerabilities across all the company's products including Oracle Database Server, which has 16 bulletins dedicated to it.
Others include Oracle Application Server, Oracle Applications, Oracle PeopleSoft and JDEdwards Suite as well as the BEA Products Suite.
According to Oracle, two of the vulnerabilities in the database could be remotely exploitable without authentication, which makes them unique compared to run of the mill security vulnerabilities.
"Due to the threat posed by a successful attack, Oracle strongly recommends that customers apply fixes as soon as possible," said the company of the patches, which also include non-security fixes.
This is the company's latest quarterly patch, which is similar to the monthly patches issued by Microsoft on the second Tuesday of every month known as "patch Tuesday".
Internet security experts recommend taking advantage of the patches as soon as they are released.
