Online security vendors turning focus to visualised networks
Many organisations have increasingly been turning to virtualised networks lately as ICT develops but online security experts are warning that the networks have vulnerabilities.
As organisations turn to these new phases in ICT development, vendors are now reportedly turning their focus to these networks and plan to showcase their products at the upcoming VMWorld 2008 conference, states Network World.
According to global connectivity expert Yankee Group analyst Phil Hochmuth, the companies are "rushing to fill the security gap created by enterprises that rushed into virtualisation with dollar signs in their eyes, and security plans on the back burner".
"Now that virtualisation is emerging as more of an overall IT strategy, rather than just a server consolidation and cost-savings measure, enterprises are starting to take an architecture-level view of how to secure these virtualised environments."
The US Computer Emergency Readiness Team recently stated that virtualised networks suffer from vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers to obtain sensitive information.
