Online security alliance for US government formed
An alliance to provide wireless online security solutions for the US government and financial institutions in the country has been announced.
Information systems and communications security firm Thales and E-Band Communications, which specialises in development of multi-gigabit capacity wireless communication systems are behind the alliance.
The partnership has been created to provide secure high-bandwidth wireless solutions for use by government entities and financial institutions as well as deliver solutions to enable large financial service organisations to meet security regulations.
"The alliance with Thales provides Government and Financial Institutions not only FIPS Security Compliance but a cost-effective wireless solution for future proofing their networks," said Saul Umbrasas of E-Band.
"The need for more bandwidth intensive content, multimedia applications and visualisation is a challenge for the Industry today and will become an even greater issue in the future."
FIPS, an acronym for Federal Information Processing Standards is a DoD mandate sating that all unclassified wireless transmission must be encrypted with FIPS compliant security solutions.
