New online threats to be debuted

Over a dozen new internet security vulnerabilities are set to be debuted at a conference next week.

The Black Hat security conference is due to take place in Las Vegas and the firm is planning to show 13 new viruses and 18 new security tools which could help protect from online threats, reports Information Week.

New online threats will include software called Veiled which can establish browser-based darknets and data theft by bypassing EV SSL certificates.

Jeremiah Grossman, founder of the firm, is planning to reveal to attendees how much money hackers can make on the internet.

He told the website: "Crime can pay and the other lesson here is that a lot of the attacks that are going on are things that a lot of people aren't looking for."

A recent report from Sophos found that the US is currently responsible for hosting 39.6 per cent of all global malware.

During the first six months of 2009, some 22.5 different samples of malware were discovered in total.
