Microsoft outlines new security possibilities with Gazelle
Microsoft researchers are developing a new secure web browser that they claim will not only beat other browsers from rivals, but even its very own Internet Explorer (IE).
The researchers say internet security in Gazelle will beat the likes of Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox.
According to a recently published paper on the issue, a new code dubbed the browser kernel will be equipped with 5,000 lines of C# code that will prevent malicious access to computers' operating systems (OS).
The browser is just a prototype but the researchers say its complex operating system will ensure the online security in web pages is much stronger.
"It is realistic to turn an existing browser into a multi-principal OS that yields significantly stronger security and robustness with acceptable performance and backward compatibility," the company stated in the paper.
The browser will also limit the online threats posed by plug-ins, which have weaknesses that can be exploited by cyber crooks.
