Major label security software 'keeps PCs safe'
Any "major" security software which is kept up to date should prevent a virus or malware outbreak attacking a machine, it has been claimed.
The comments come from an industry commentator known as Even Keall, made through online resource New Zealand PC World.
He explained that the main aspects users should consider when shopping for anti-virus software include its "usability, stability and speed".
The Anti-Virus Software Review 2008 suggested that people protect their machines in order to protect the data they have stored from online criminals.
It stated that the industry has developed so considerably that users are now able to protect their machines with greater ease than ever before.
However, the organisation noted that as cybercriminals are using increasingly sophisticated methods to infect computers, such protection is very much needed.
It highlighted that viruses can be spread in a wide variety of ways, including through email attachments, spam and corrupt websites.
