Internet security breach of Obama helicopter data
The importance of using internet security software and being aware of online threats has been highlighted by a controversial data breach related to President Obama's helicopter.
Sensitive data for the Democrat President's Marine One copter is thought to have been found by online security firm Tiversa at an IP address in Tehran, reports WPXI.
It is believed a worker mistakenly downloaded a file-sharing program which allowed other internet users access to the data, which reportedly included blueprints and an avionics package for Marine One.
Bob Boback, chief executive of Tiversa, told the news provider that the person who downloaded the software could lose their job, before adding that they do not know where the information came from or where it potentially could have gone.
"When downloading one of these file-sharing programs, you are effectively allowing others around the world to access your hard drive," he added.
The news comes as British prime minister Gordon Brown is set to travel to the US for talks with President Obama tomorrow and to address Congress on Wednesday.
