Hyderabad a hackers' den
Hyderabad in India has reportedly been branded a hackers' den by online security experts following an increase in cyber crime related to the city, reports say.
Internet security organisations have reported seeing many cases of corporate data theft, email scams, ID theft and even mischievous acts such as posting pornographic images on social networking cites, reports the Times of India.
So high is the frequency of cyber crime-related online threats that security experts rank the city highest on the cyber crime radar among all southern Indian cities.
According to online security expert Zaki Qureshey of E2Labs, the trend is a result of improper security in the city's cyber cafes.
"Hyderabad has the highest number of cyber cafes, the best available bandwidth and the highest number of home users as compared to other South Indian states, but is unfortunately the worst in regard to awareness," he said.
According to security firms, cyber cafes in the city are not properly supervised, which is a loophole for cyber crime.
