Hackers thrown out of hacking conference for hacking
In what can only be described as ironic, if not funny, three French journalists have been thrown out of a hacking conference for hacking into other reporter's computers.
The three, who are listed as employees of French publication Global Security Magazine, were thrown from the Black Hat hacker conference in Las Vegas, for hacking into the private computer network set up for the media.
The press room network was supposed to be safe from hacking activity, which is expected to be going on at the conference, seeing as it is made up of hackers and online security experts.
Dominique Brezinski, Black Hat's technical director, said: "The design of the network was to isolate it from the rest of the public network, it's not designed to isolate it from one computer in the press room to another computer in the press room.
"They took advantage of that."
Their activities came to light when one of the journalists tried to have information stolen from other journalists posted on the Wall of Sheep, a platform set up to shame security professionals who do not follow proper security procedures themselves.
