Hackers 'invade Georgia's cyberspace'
A group of hackers believed to be from Russia are reportedly continuing to cause online security issues on some of Georgia's websites.
According to softpedia.com, a team of alleged cyber criminals have attempted to convince Russian computer users to attack the websites of their neighbours.
The controversy surrounds StopGeorgia.ru which softpedia.com claims is trying to influence others to bring down the websites of a number of Georgian institutions.
Although the group remains anonymous, a statement on StopGeorgia.ru reportedly reads: "You can call us criminals, cyber terrorists or war activists.
"But we only fight against any unacceptable aggression against Russia in the global network."
Conflict has erupted in Georgia after Russia retaliated to its neighbour's attempts to regain control of the Moscow-backed separatist enclave of South Ossetia.
Nato is now appealing to Russia to withdraw troops as promised and allow for aid to reach civilians.
Speaking at a Nato meeting today, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said: "We are going to send the message that we are not going to allow Russia to draw a new line at those states that are not yet integrated into the transatlantic structures, like Georgia and Ukraine."
