Hackers claim to have compromised Kaspersky
Hackers have claimed to have compromised the internet security of an online security vendor leading to the exposure of a treasure trove of data of the vendor's products.
The hackers, who published screen shots to substantiate their claims, said a simple SQL injection allowed them to have access to Kaspersky's database using the US website.
However, the hackers claim to have been only interested in exposing the flaw and not stealing any details, blogging on Hackersblog.org that they had no intention of exploiting the details.
"Yes, that SQL injection in usa.kaspersky.com is very real," blogged the hackers.
"Kaspersky team doesn't need to worry about us spreading their confidential stuff. Our staff will never save or keep any confidential data we just point our fingers to big websites with security problems."
According to Security Focus, independent security experts have analysed the details and one told the website that the claims by the hacker appear to be real.
