Hackers and security professionals to interact in Vienna
A unique event bringing together individuals from opposing sides of the online security landscape is to take place in Europe.
The Austrian capital Vienna is to host DeepSec, a security conference from November 11 to 14 that is a rare event bringing together hackers, internet security companies, IT professionals and scientists.
Conference organiser Ren Pfeiffer said: "Despite what is generally believed, hackers are not necessarily criminals.
"Many have made it their goal to point out potentially dangerous security leaks that need to be closed as soon as possible in everyone's interest.
"We are a neutral platform that closes the usually existing gap between researchers, businesses, authorities and the hacker community."
Topics to be discussed include improving code with destructive data, security audit and hardening of java-based software and design and implementation of security awareness campaigns among others.
This is the second time the conference will be taking place in Austria and its organisers hope the international mix of speakers and guests will create a good forum to exchange information and experience.
