Government minister's website compromised
Another government minister has been put on the receiving end by cyber crooks after a website he is involved with had its internet security compromised and the site defaced, it has been reported.
Hackers that appear to have been driven only by malice hacked into junior transport minister Paul Clarke's website and defaced it with digital graffiti, according to the Register.
A message was then left on labourisworking.com stating "HACKED BY Red Virus. just for fun.", after which an obscenity was used before the hacker concluded: "this message [is] from egypt.".
The Register goes on to state that the users of Internet Explorer seem to have had the problem sorted out although other browsers seem to be still having problems.
British justice minister Jack Straw recently had his online security compromised by a Nigerian cyber crook, who broke into his email account and proceeded to ask for money from his colleagues and constituents.
The crook sent messages claiming the minister was stranded in Nigeria and was in need of funds to travel back to the UK.
