Data encryption solution launched
A new portable data encryption solution is to offers personal computer users some peace of mind, thanks to its self-encryption possibilities.
Coming in the wake of revelations by online security specialist Kaspersky Labs that online threats are becoming ever more sophisticated and tougher, the new solution promises to put encrypted storage in consumers' control.
In its latest warning, Kaspersky warned that ransomware where cyber crooks hijack important files from victims and demand ransom was on the increase and advised users to create back-ups of their files.
However with the new self-encrypting portable hard drive from Buffalo, users will be able to take security of their files to an even safer level, through encryption.
In a move that may highlight the low cost of encrypting personal files, the new drives will come with capacities of up to 320GB, and may cost around the same price as a standard drive, according to TechSpot.
Efforts to increase data protection have been ongoing. Internet security provider Marshal recently launched a new email encryption system that promises to prevent any leakage of data.
