Cyber crook taunts Microsoft Windows Defender team
A malware writer who last year sent a coded message to the Microsoft Windows Defender team taunting them has reportedly sent out another trojan horse with a hidden message for the team.
Now a group of French researchers known as Malware Analysis & Diagnostic are claiming to have seen further taunts on a variant of the online security threat in which the author confirms he is in Russia.
"Just want to say 'Hello' from Russia," the hidden message states. "You are really good guys. It was a surprise for me that Microsoft can respond on threats so fast."
The cyber crook goes on to wish the team a happy New Year and "good luck" and concludes with a boast that Microsoft tried to offer him a job to "help improve some of Vista's protection".
Last year the team discovered a message in the Zlob Windows trojan, which read: "I want to see your eyes the man from Windows Defender's team", the fist time the crooks included a message for the researchers.
