Bluetooth phones 'in virus peril'
Mobile phones equipped with Bluetooth technology are in serious danger of being attacked by viruses, according to reports.
The prevalence of this kind of activity is currently relatively low but with more and more people being able to access the internet and use Bluetooth via their mobiles, the threat posed is expected to increase dramatically.
Many thousands of UK consumers are now using these kinds of added mobile communication features, but only a few are taking the steps necessary to protect their devices and the information that may be stored on it, Sify News reports.
It is believed that for some unfortunate mobile users, the end result of leaving their Bluetooth connected phones unprotected could be an extraordinarily high phone bill.
A report featured in the Times of India recently suggested that the fact that mobile phones users keep their devices up and running for the majority of the time leaves them more vulnerable to malware attacks than laptops.
