Blair foundation Facebook page targeted by hackers
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been targeted by a group of hackers who have compromised the online security of his Facebook page and left abusive messages on his account, it has emerged.
The Facebook page was set up to promote the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, an organisation set up by the former prime minister to promote understanding of world religions.
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, the account was hacked into and abusive messages targeting Mr Blair posted, including one that stated the politician "was about as good for Britain as the bubonic plague".
Last Saturday another poster wrote: "Setting up a Mickey Mouse foundation will do nothing to clear your conscience. Your legacy was sealed a long time ago. You can bang your Christian drum for as long as you like."
Mr Blair has been targeted by cyber crooks before such as last year when identity fraudsters sent out rogue emails purporting to be from him advertising conferences that did not exist.
Justice secretary Jack Straw also found himself on the receiving end recently after his email account was hacked into.
