Advanced network security solution launched
A new online security solution that is said to offer advanced network security has been launched, IT News Online has revealed.
The new firmware solution is from Cyberoam, a unit of Elitecore Technologies, which provides identity-based unified threat management appliances.
According to the makers, Cyberoam prevents data leakage while offering more control as it filters and blocks threats arising from proxy sites and malicious websites.
The new platform will also help block access to unauthorized websites hosted over SSL, the makers say, which would help prevent the spread of malicious content and unproductive downloads.
Abhilash Sonwane, vice-president, Product Management, said: "SSL tunnels hide user activity and result in anonymous surfing.
"With SSL encrypted traffic comprising a significant percentage of all traffic going through corporate gateways, it can result in a huge security hole in networks as it opens users to SSL-based proxies that bypass most content filtering solutions."
Among other services, the solution is also able to block audio searches, internet, radio and TV and the download of software to appliances like mobiles.
