Adobe adopts Microsoft's patch Tuesday strategy
Adobe has announced it will release patches on a regular basis to counter increasing attempts by cyber crooks to exploit internet security vulnerabilities in its Reader and Acrobat products.
The company has announced that it will roll out security patches for all major supported versions and platforms in its products on the second Tuesday of every third month.
While announcing the development, director of product security and privacy Brad Arkin said the patches are based on a similar strategy by Microsoft, which sees the company issue security fixes on every second Tuesday of the month.
He also announced that the company is improving its incidence response procedures saying "quicker turn-around times on patch releases and simultaneous patches for more affected versions" will be focused on.
The last few weeks have seen Adobe's products put on the receiving end as crooks exploited vulnerabilities to expose users end users to online threats.
A security fix for a flaw in the in Adobe Reader 9.1 and Acrobat 9.1 was released last week.
