Registry Tweaks
Use double-pane Explorer when opening network drives (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP)
New
By default when opening network drives (UNC) the Explorer window opens with a single-pane which does not show the Folders section on the left-hand side. This tweak changes the default behavior to open network drives with a double-pane view.
Change the Critical Update Notification Delay (Windows 95/98/Me)
When Windows detects that a new critical update is available it gives you the option to update now or to be reminded again in 1 day. This tweak allows you to change the default 1 day reminder period.
Change the File Attribute for System Folders (Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000)
Windows Explorer normally uses the Read-Only attribute to determine whether a folder is customized. This may cause file saving problems with some programs and not allow you to remove the attribute. This tweak allows you to force Windows to use the alternate System attribute.
Configure Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) (Windows 98/Me)
Windows 98SE and Me include a feature called Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) which enables networked PCs to easily share a single Internet connection. These settings allow you to configure some ICS parameters.
Choose the First Desktop Icon (Windows 2000/Me/XP)
This tweak allows you to choose the icon that you want to appear first on the desktop either My Documents or My Computer.
Disable Update Device Driver Wizard (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP)
This tweak allows you to disable the ability to use Windows Update to locate updated drivers for hardware in Device Manager.
