Open and Save Dialog Box Customization (Windows 2000/Me/XP)

These settings allow you to remove the places bar, most-recently-used (MRU) list and the back button from the common dialog boxes.

This tweak can be easily applied using WinGuides Tweak Manager.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value named according to the table below and set it to "1" to hide the button.

  • NoBackButton - Hides the back button
  • NoFileMRU - Hides the most-recently-used (MRU) list
  • NoPlacesBar - Hides the places bar
