Specify the Timeout Period for Broadcast Queries (Windows 95/98/Me)
This setting allows you to specify the period of time the system will wait before timing out broadcast name queries.

Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new string value (or DWORD for Windows 95) called "BcastQueryTimeout", and set it to equal the period of time in milliseconds (minimum 100).
Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
Value Name: BcastQueryTimeout
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: Time in milliseconds (Default =750)
