Automatically Detect Slow Network Connections (Windows NT/2000) Popular
Windows will normally attempt to detect the time-out on network links to determine their speed (high or low). This functionality can be disabled if Windows is having problems determining the speed of your link.

Open your registry and find or create the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "SlowLinkDetectEnabled" and set it according to the value data below.
Exit your registry; you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

Value Name: SlowLinkDetectEnabled
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)
