Disable Internet Explorer Automatic Proxy Caching (All Windows)

When you configure Internet Explorer to use automatic proxy configuration it caches the returned information. If a proxy server fails you may therefore get an error message even though others are available. With this setting you can disable caching to ensure the browser always checks for the latest proxy information.

Open your registry and find or create the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "EnableAutoProxyResultCache" and set it according to the value data below.

Exit your registry; you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

Note: This tweak is only applicable for Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater. If you disable automatic proxy caching, Internet Explorer performance may be affected.
