Use Auto-Complete in Word File Dialog Boxes (All Windows)

When you type a file name in the Open, Save, or Save As dialog box, Word may automatically try to complete the file name for you. This tweak can be used to enable or disable this behaviour.

This tweak can be easily applied using WinGuides Tweak Manager.

Open your registry and find or create the key below.

Create a new String value, or modify the existing value, called "Use AutoComplete" and set it according to the value data below.

Exit your registry; you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

Note: If you are using Microsoft Office 2000 you should install the Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a Update before this tweak will take effect.
