File compression

Having converted your partition to NTFS one of the new features you can take advantage of is file and folder compression. Once your data is compressed you can add a password and restrict access to it. To create a zipped compressed folder (archive) open Windows Explorer and highlight the folder you wish to archive. Right click on it and choose Send To > Compressed (zipped) Folder. A file will then be created with the zip file extension. In order to password protect the contents of the newly created .zip file double click on it to display its contents then click on File > Add Password. Enter a password (the more cryptic, the better), confirm it then click on OK.
