"...how to move the saved games from one computer to another so that I can continue my game from the same level on the other computer..."
As for any application one can only give a general answer to this general question (you may have to give the name of your game, so that someone can give detailed instructions - games are not for me). "...to move ... from one computer to another ..." (assumes you have already installed your application on the other machine) (1) move the application data files to the other machine (the one you saved your game in). (2) Export parameters from the registry at HKCU\Software\<author>\<appname> (3) Check the .REG file from the export and see if you need to point some path names to a different location on the other machine. (4) and import on the other machine. Note: before importing on the other machine, you may want to save the current settings (export) for later restore. ______________ Regards - Richard |

I usually look in the game folder for saved games, copy them to floppy and take them to the other pc and drop them into the same folder they came from on the other pc.

well then: there is still that piece of hardware - the diskette .
But you can also get a copy of WinZip (or similiar - <a target="_blank" href=http://www.winzip.com>http://www.winzip.com</a>), compress your data to a resonable size and mail it as an attachment. Send it to yourself - but don't read the mail before you arrive at your destination. Maybe in your case you can get a free Yahoo account, with some free disk space included. Then upload the file to this webstorage, and at the destination, download it from there again. This will ask you to accept a ActiveX component for access to your machines. PS. Welcome to Switzerland ! ______________ Regards - Richard |
