Default Spyware Doctor License Question

Hi,

I have a licensing question about PC Tools Spyware Doctor. My subscription for 3 licenses will expire in 13 days time.

I have Spyware Doctor installed as follows on my PCs:

Desktop 1: XP Pro SP3 32 bit with Spyware Doctor 6.1.0.447

Desktop 2: Vista Ultimate SP2 64 bit, no Spyware Doctor installed

Laptop: XP Pro SP3 32 bit with Spyware Doctor 6.1.0.447

In the coming months I will be replacing both the XP desktop and laptop (replacing the PCs not just the operating systems) with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit equivalents .

Is there a method to de-authorize the two XP PCs and transfer their licenses to the Windows 7 PCs? The Windows XP PCs will no longer have Spyware Doctor installed since they will not used ever again.

I also wish to install Spyware Doctor on the Windows Vista PC also.

If all goes well, my PCs will have Spyware Doctor installed as follows:

Desktop 1: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Spyware Doctor 7.0.0.514

Desktop 2: Vista Ultimate SP2 64 bit with Spyware Doctor 7.0.0.514

Laptop: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Spyware Doctor 7.0.0.514

Is this possible? If not, I will purchase any additional licenses if necessary.

If I have asked the above question in the wrong place i.e. forum, I apologise.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Jimboc007,

If you replace the OS you do not need to re-purchase a new license. You are still good with the 1 subscription for 3 PC's. If you have more than 3 PC's then you'll need to purchase a new subscription

Default Looking forward to upgrading

Hi Anthony,

That’s great news. It’s good to know that I can upgrade my PCs and my operating systems to Windows 7 without any licensing issues (since I will still only be using 3 licenses).

I only asked since I wasn’t sure how the license is activated and/or detected in use by Spyware Doctor when it is installed on a PC.

I will be loading the latest version of Spyware Doctor onto my new PCs.

Looking forward to many, many more years using Spyware Doctor!

Thanks for your help.
