What OS are you referring to?
The option for "Scan for rootkit hidden files" should be available on all OS's that is supported by Spyware Doctor (Settings-> Scan Settings-> Scan for rootkit hidden files).

i'm running window xp porsfessional. The "scan for hidden rootkit files option is there but can not check/activate it, sometimes I see the message (this feature requires updated window service pack.) next to the option, but for some reason, I failed everytime I tried to update to SP2.

This explains it. You will need to update Windows to SP2 as SD does not Support SP1.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32bit, 64bit), Windows Vista SP1+ (32bit, 64bit), Windows XP SP2+ (32bit)

You may want to contact Microsoft Support to see what the problem when trying to upgrade to SP2.
