Exclamation MSN Messenger Voice & Video Calls through Firewall +

Hello All,

I am having some issues with PC Tools Firewall+, when I go to make a VoIP call or a video call over MSN Live Messenger v-2009 (Build 14.0.8064.206), I have to disable the firewall in order to talk, the normal IM functionality works just fine, AND I can initiate or receive a voice or video invite, I just get any audio or video.
1) Is there a port that needs to be opened?
2) Is there an advanced rule that needs to be installed (or god forbid; written, I tried to write one once and it was an unmitigated failure )?
3) Do I need to modify an already preexisting rule?

I have already installed the private network rule and modified it to work with my network (tightened up the passband) so modifying one is no terror for me (just writing one).

Can any one help? Thanks.

P.S.
I Almost forgot , I'm running PC Tools Firewall+, v-2.0.0.25.
4) Also, is there a list or repository that has all the pre-written advanced rules?
If there is why don’t you folks let everyone know where it is and how to get to it with a thread like the ones that show up on each of the pages listing the threads?
Thanks again,
Joe-McM

Hi
The version of PC Tools Firewall Plus that you are using is very out-of-date. The latest version is 5.0.0.38. It is possible an update to the latest version will correct any rules problems.
Hope that helps
